Sohan Japa grew up in New Orleans, and from a young age, he developed a curiosity around how gadgets and electronics worked. Naturally, this led to an interest in biology and physiology which explain how living organisms function and thrive.
His childhood curiosity eventually led him to California where he studied at Stanford University receiving a BS in Biomechanical Engineering. From those early days, Stanford’s entrepreneurial culture shaped him. He remained at Stanford to complete both medical school and business school.
After completing his studies, he continued to work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and business. This trifecta of interests led him to founding two healthcare startups, working as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co’s Pharma practice, and finishing his Internal Medicine residency at Harvard (Brigham & Women’s Hospital).
